Graduates of Traditional Schools 

On completion of internship the applicant must submit a completed copy of the pre-registration form that can be obtained from the Ministry of Health. The pre-registration form is generally a summary of the internship. 

It must contain 

  • the start and end dates of each rotation, 

  • the signatures of all consultants who supervised that applicant and 

  • the office stamps and signatures of the following officals:

  1. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO), at the Ministry of Health

  2. The Dean of the University that the applicant achieved the medical degree.  ( or Registrar of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria for graduates of Nigerian Universities)

  3. The Medical Chief of Staff of all health institutions where the applicant practiced internship.

Please note that processing of further Registration application mandates the submission of the original and copy of the medical degree. The original will be returned.

Note: Graduates of UWI are eligible to apply for Full Registration. Other graduates are required to complete a period of Temporary Registration, before becoming eligible for Full Registration.

 

Graduates of Non-traditional Schools 

As per the Regular Monthly Meeting held on 2nd September 2004, the Council will consider an application for further registration after internship provided that the applicant can prove success at one of the following examinations:

  • Caribbean Association of Medical Councils (CAMC)  (contact Medical Council of Jamaica)
  • USLME/ECFMG all fours parts   More>>
  • PLAB Parts I and II More>>

and the University must be listed in the World Health Organisation Directory of approved Medical Institutions. Only then can the applicant be considered for any further Registration.
